ManzalvosChurch of Santa María

The church was built between the 17th and 18th centuries, although the main altarpiece is in the neoclassical style of the 19th century and has fine carvings of Santa Bárbara, San Martiño, Sano Paulo, San Sebastián and Our Lady with the Christ Chlid. Also of note are some 16th century Mannerist paintings depicting Gospel passages featuring Christ and the Virgin.
On the outside of the façade of the church of Santa María there are four figurative corbels that supported a covered space that no longer exists; inside the church there is an expressive image of the Crucified Christ located in an arcosolium. Manzalvos is located on the slopes of some "white mountains", which, according to the philologist Eligio Rivas Quintas, is the origin of its name.

Big Houses
Manzalvos has up to five outstanding large houses built in the 18th century, including one with an L-shaped floor plan, with a wooden veranda opening onto the courtyard, and another with a U-shaped floor plan, a door under a round arch and windows with conopiais arches and an epigraph that reads:
NICOLÁS YVAN Y ANTONIO / DE BRITO POR APELLIDO SACERDOTE LOS DICE LO QUISO HICIERON / ESTE EDIFICIO. YEAR 1716
